About us & our boys
This is a weblog by Monique Simmer and Kevin Lossner, two freelance translators for German to English who live near Berlin, Germany. When we aren’t working on translations (and even when we are), one of our great passions is hunting dogs and their training. We have two Wire-haired Vizslas, Quodian’s Aristos and his son Daniavizsla’s Barack, and a Deutsch Drahthaar (which some call German Wire-haired Pointer but we won’t for political reasons), Ajax vom Bernsteinsee, with whom we spend many happy hours. In the first year with Aristos, we often had great difficulty locating the resources and information needed for his training, but in doing so we met many fine and helpful people and discovered a wealth of information, a process which is ongoing. We hope that by sharing this information we can smooth the path a little for others like us who are starting out with great dogs like these.

Hi, I stumbled acrosss our blog today, as I research all things HWV and read it all with great interest. I have HVW’s and a Bracco but have had 2 GWP losing the last one last year aged 11 years. I will call back regularly to see read about the progress of your dogs………..
Thansk you for taking the time to write this blog.
Hi Dianne,
Many thanks for your kind comments – our blog is sadly in need of an update, which I hope to manage this week at last – we have had Barack (Ari’s wonderful son) since August, but between our translation work and training three dogs we have not had much time for anything else lately.
